International Day of Happiness: Caring and Sharing

International Day of Happiness: Caring and Sharing

The International Day Of Happiness is celebrated annually on March 20th and each year the day carries a theme, and this year it is Caring and Sharing. A reminder that happiness is rarely something we create alone. It grows through connection, kindness and the small ways we show up for one another.

Sometimes celebrating happiness does not require a big change. It can begin with very small moments of care.

You might send a message to someone you have been thinking about.
Take a walk outside and let the fresh air shift your mood.
Spend time with someone who makes you feel like yourself again.

Kindness has a quiet ripple effect. The more we share it, the more it grows.

Gentle Ways to Celebrate

  • Do a small act of kindness for someone around you: This could be something simple like complimenting a colleague, holding the door open, or leaving a kind note for someone who might need it.
  • Call a friend or spend time with someone you love: It might be as easy as texting a friend “thinking of you,” making a quick call on your way home, or finally organising that catch-up you’ve been meaning to plan.
  • Step outside and enjoy a moment in nature: Take a short walk, sit in the sunshine with your coffee, or pause for a few quiet minutes to breathe in some fresh air.
  • Give yourself a few minutes of quiet care: Run a warm bath, step away from your phone, or take a moment to slow down and do something that feels comforting.

Even the smallest gesture can brighten a day.

A Gentle Reminder

We believe happiness does not need to be chased or perfected. It can be found in connection, self kindness and the small rituals that bring you back to yourself.

Today is simply a gentle reminder to notice those moments.

However you spend the day, we hope it includes something that makes you feel a little lighter.

And if you can, pass that feeling on to someone else.
